Good news- we did get to see some balloons and they were pretty and I ate alligator for the first time. Tastes like chicken.

Womancation Day 3 - Balloon Fiesta
Truth be told, today was somewhat of a bust. We arrived at the fiesta around 3:30...evidently the events down time. But we wandered around the booths that were open and soaked in the ambiance in anticipation for the evening's much hyped sunset glow. We had heard about how amazing it is as the balloons all inflate but remain tethered so you can see them all glow in the dimming sunset. We probably saw ten balloons light up. In a huge field. Pretty underwhelming. We were told the wind was a danger so many of the balloon pilots opted not to participate in the event as the wind could damage the balloons. Bummer. There were fireworks after and we watched most of those but it certainly was not the spectacle we had envisioned. For a group of people who like to maximize each precious hour of Womancation, we were a bit disappointed. A Womancation first.

That's actually a good pic of us in the Hot Air Balloon sign! At least something good came out of that day ;)
