We started this morning with an early meandering around the Yale campus. It is a gorgeous campus but smaller than I'd imagined and certainly not worth the $40K per year price tag (in my humble opinion).
Next stop, Essex, CT home of the Griswold Inn and their fantastic brunch buffet complete with a waffle station and an omelet station. Needless to say, we all but rolled out of there after a delicious meal. Essex is a quiet harbor town free of all national chains/franchises that feels miles away from any tourist traps. We were told there is a traffic light in town but I never saw it. What a gem!
Bristol, CT was our next stop. 'What's in Bristol' you ask? Turns out its home to ESPN. Shockingly this wasn't top of my list to stop there but hey, at least now I can say I've been there.
One final stop in CT to see the home of Mark Twain. Whose house is a stones throw away from the home of Harriet Beecher Stow. Who knew!? We had time for only one of the home tours so we did the Twain house. Which was very educational, although a little sad too.
We dropped Kerry off at the airport and ME and I are all set for a fun day in Rhode Island tomorrow!
