Germany Day 4

Today we gave in to the jet lag a little and slept in. We are in Jena at my parents apartment. We drove to Eisenach where we toured Wartburg Castle. The castle has a long and varied history but is known primarily as the place where Martin Luther worked on the translation of the Bible into German. It's a pretty amazing place with a fantastic view of the town below.
The other claim to fame in Eisenach is it is the birthplace of Johan Sebastian Bach.
We are having such a great time - getting to try many different kinds of schnitzel and laughing ourselves nearly sick. So happy the four of us have this time together!!! :)

WHY did I have NO idea you were going to Germany???? Did you have this planned when I last saw you in June? I'm so confused, BUT so happy that you are there! Lucky girl. Have fun in the motherland for me. I haven't been there since 1993. Good grief, that's a long time.
