Womancation - Day 1

Day 1 - Boston, MA Concord, MA Sharon, VT Woodstock, VT Ludlow, VT

We started out the day in Boston and had to get donut at Dunkin' Donuts (right?) then headed back to hit another couple of Freedom Trail stops.

This is Copp's Hill Burying Ground. Founded in 1659, it is the second oldest cemetery in Boston and is the final resting place of numerous colonial Bostonians.

And just down the street is the Old North Church. This church's steeple was home to Paul Revere's "one if by land, two if by sea" sign.

That's all we had time for in Boston so we swung by the airport and picked up the final Womancation gal. And with our group complete, we headed to Concord, MA where we saw the home of Ralph Waldo Emerson.

And just a few miles away is Walden Pond.

Henry David Thorough's original cabin is long gone but this is a replica of the one he built, with a statue of him outside. Let's just say my shoes could never live there...

Then it was off to Sharon, VT to see the Joseph Smith birthplace memorial. This isn't a site a person could ever just stumble upon. It is way out of the way and as a result it is delightfully peaceful and beautiful.

Down the road a bit is Woodstock, VT. Woodstock was dubbed "the prettiest little town in America".

And come on, a covered bridge absolutely clinches the title.

That night we headed down the road and stayed the night in Ludlow, VT.

Next up, day 2.
