Audiobooks

English teachers beware. The following will read like blasphemy.
I enjoy reading well enough but I am not good about making the time to do it, in part because it tends to lull me to sleep. As a kid, my parents would read me stories before I went to sleep. And evidently the pattern stuck and I became more and more efficient with the process. Read...then sleep. Which means I will read two or three pages before my eyelids get heavy. And it takes me forever to read a book. Recently I've found a fabulous alternative - audiobooks. The only downside is a book on iTunes is full price...unlike the discounted books I can get at Half Price Books. But the good news is I've been listening to them on my way to and from work. Which is entertaining AND productive. And since I walk home, I am getting three things done at once. It's so efficient and convenient it's awesome.
The key is finding books that I want to read that have a good reader's voice. I'm not going to say I'm all caught up on the classics...but I sure do enjoy the commutes more these days. :)

First of all, I love that you spelled "English teacher beware" as "Enlish." Hilarious! I heart audio books. I always "read" on my way to/from work and love it! Do you have a library by you? They're free that way!

That's what I get for posting something in a rush. :)
Does your library let you check out ebooks?
