The latest addition to La Casa de las Mindies is my new piano, Dano. (Yes, Dano the Piano.) Some of you may be thinking, 'hey, I didn't know you played the piano'. It's because I don't. I took lessons as a kid and all I have to show for that hard work is the one and only song which I am proficient in playing. It's from one of those kids piano books and it's called "The Indian Song". If you're ever lucky enough to witness the magic, I know the lyrics too. It's moving. Anyway since Dano has graced my home, I've spent a little time each day trying to add another song to my skills list. I can ALMOST play a song out of the songs made easy book I stole from my mom. As it turns out taking 20 years off, you're bound to lose a little something. Oh well, here's to learning again and here's to Dano! :)

Meet Dano

Heather, it should be noted that your daughter is responsible for this burst of ambition. Upon hearing me play my one and only song last summer, she looked up at me with those pretty eyes and all the wonder of a child and said 'Aunt Mindy, I think it's really cool I have an aunt who can play the piano'. The wave of shame that washed over me provided the motivation to actually learn how to play. It's all her fault. :)
She's good at that! :)
