Fresh Paint

When I moved into my current residence almost five months ago, there were several things I loved about it. The location, the red door, available storage, the fact that it would provide me with not only my own room again but a separate living room, kitchen, etc. One thing I did not love was the color of the walls. In the light of day, I was tricked into believing they were a neutral tan color but as the sun set, the moss green mysteriously began to show through. (And this is a phenomenon recognized by multiple people, it wasn't just me.) Different light bulbs did nothing to ease the vomit-inducing hue from showing through. Very quickly I decided I just couldn't live with it. Because of this decision, I didn't bother hanging anything on the walls in my room since I knew it would just result in an extra step when painting commenced. My first color choice was gray but after trying multiple shades, hues and tints of the gray (that all looked blue, purple or white in my room) I gave up on it and went for a ridiculously sensible and neutral color. In fact I think the color is called "natural". Exotic, right? But it's not white...and it's not blue, so I'm happy with it. More than that, I'm delighted to open my door when I get home as I'm now greeted with the pleasant, soothing color that helps brighten my room. PLUS now that it's painted, I finally started hanging stuff on my walls. Now it actually feels like MY room!
Now if I can just keep myself away from buying new bedding.......
