On September 7, Rent featured its final performance on Broadway. The final performance was filmed and is currently being shown at movie theaters around the country this week. GO SEE IT!! I was very nervous about how they would pull off a stage production on the big screen but to my delight, they did a great job. You still get the genuine feeling of the live theater (something missing in the movie version) but you get the benefits of various angles and focusing in on pertinent characters and the raw emotion from the actors. The final cast did a fantastic job and took the production through its final curtain call in glowing style!
Leave the kids at home...but go see it! :)
