Something new

I’ve received grief from numerous people about my poor blogging skills…specifically my lack of blogging over the past few months. I’ve assured people this blog will not become a platform for me to dispense my views and frustrations with life and the world in general. As such, this has become somewhat of a picture diary to prove to my family and friends who live far away that I’m still alive and doing well. For some inexplicable reason, I am currently unable to load pictures into photobucket and onto the blog. And that’s my excuse for not posting.
So here I am without a post for months and now I’m about to go back on my word and vent frustrations not only on pop culture but on the very essence of what is wrong with our culture (musically speaking of course).
American Idol. Why do all of this season’s contestants openly admit to being unfamiliar with the Beatles? If this is truly the case, it is something they should be ashamed of and certainly not something they should ever vocalize to the nation. What kind of message are they sending to the youth of America? That is it OK to believe the crap circulating on the radio is good music? Please…say it isn’t so. For people who aspire to be musicians and as people in the public eye, they are morally obligated to study, know and learn from brilliant musicians.
I fear for our youth.
Suddenly I feel the need to donate all my disposable income to music education in our schools because they need all the help they can get. Clearly this generation of parents contributing to the gene pool is slacking in a tragic way. Decent musical taste is a basic value that should be taught even before ‘share your toys’ or ‘be nice to people’. Exposure to good music from an early age is good for our souls. If we have those beautiful lyrics and melodies inside of us, we are so much more likely to be better people. We’ll want to make ourselves happy, we'll want to make other people happy, we’ll be better prepared to unlock our creative abilities and we’ll be more capable of making the world a better place. (Please queue the swaying lighters and the love-in.)
The end.
(See…this is what happens when I’m pressured to post without pictures.)

I hope you feel better now!!! I agree with you and so glad you told us what you think. I wish I could write as good as you do... I would do the same.
My blog is like yours... for family and friends living far from me.
I miss you Miss Mindy!!!

Finally, a new blog posting! hurray! And you better come out here fully prepared to culture my child in May, because I must admit, somewhat sheepishly after reading your post, that I have never purchased a Beatles album. However, Lacey will be well-versed in terms of Chicago, Air Supply and Martina McBride!

Hey have you gotten things fixed so that you can add pictures, yet? I love seeing what you have been up to and you are in dire need of a new post.
Every time I complain of computer issues Randy always tells me to restart my computer and to make sure that I have all the current updates. Have you done that? I am running an old version of explorer & he says that it is the most common cause of browser issues (I too have experience with the "done with errors" thing). Hope that helps and you had fun with the fam this past week…we are totally jealous! We are all in need of a Disneyland fix!
